Simple Meditation Techniques yengar's Definition of Meditation

In yoga, the practice of meditation is called Dhyana. The yoga master Bksingar had a very succinct definition of meditation in yoga, any yoga format. He says that "it's a state that emerges when the flow of concentration is uninterrupted. Once body, breath, senses mind, reason and ego are all integrated in the object of contemplation, the universal spirit". So that's what we're going for. Whatever your object of contemplation is, just try and let go of all the external, just let go of the ego. Let go of the physical. Let go of the spiritual, whatever you're thinking, you're trying to be in the spiritual sense, just, you move into the meditation and then you are in the meditation. Don't try and keep coming into the meditation right. You enter a room and then you are in the room. That's the difference between doing and being. So let yourself be. The purpose is to let yourself happen in this moment and slowly hone the focus down to whatever it is you're meditating on.
