Kundalini Yoga for Beginners n Introduction to Kundalini Yoga & Meditation



Hi! I’m Leta I’m an instructor in School of Yoga in Pittsburgh. Thank you for your interest in Kundalini yoga. Kundalini yoga works with the Kundalini energy, which is coiled energy located at the base of the spine. In Kundalini energy, we do exercises and breath work to move that energy to chakras where the energy centers are located along the spine up to the crown of the head. You might have tried different technique in yoga before which are called Hatha yoga where you work with a very deep slow type of breathing, in Kundalini yoga, there is a very specific type of breath work that you do called breath of fire, it is very fast and it is very quick. It is still tricky to get the pacing down for the breath of fire but once you do and it is really mood elevating and it is very integrating energizing type of breath work.
