Why Meditate

Hi. My name is Taylor Lapidus and I am with Think Positive Apparel. Thank you very much for Checking our blog out. Today we are going to answer the questio 12“Why meditate?” Why do we spend all of this time talking about meditation, doing these guided Visualizations, and all of this stuff? How does it relate to thinking positively? How does it relate to getting what you want out of life. As meditation was taught to me it is all about clearing the mind; stopping the monkey mind, replacing the monkey mind with a cool, calm, grounded, centered mind and from that place creating what you want out of your day, out of your week, out of your life. the point of meditation is being calm in the storm. 'cause life can be a storm, right? you could be out there in the middle of your day having a great day and out of nowhere someone could cut you off, or someone could start getting upset with you at work, or your spouse or significant other could be having some issues with you so your great day could suddenly face some challenges. This is were the meditation kicks in. This is where you're practicing what you want to perform. If you have difficulty sitting alone in a dark quiet room and just clearing your mind, being focused and being present how are you supposed to achieve that state of consciousness when you're under Attack? And I'm not talking necessarily about physical attack, although that could be, I’m talking about the attacks of the regular world; just everyday life. Sometimes we feel that we are under attack. Now, that’s kind of a victim consciousness and that is not what we preach here; however, the point is that there are times when we get uprooted, ungrounded. So, how do we get our balance back? How do we get back into being grounded, being Present, just be? Instead of letting the chatter of that monkey mind overrule what we know to be true. That that person who cut us of eally not that big of deal. Not worth freaking out over, potentially causing an accident. Or hanging onto it, getting angry, chasing them. No. Just breath. So, find a quiet place each day in the morning where you start practice that. Because the better you’re doing there, The better chance you are going to have bringing that to your everyday life. And ultimately that’s what we want. That's what I want. I want to be grounded and centered throughout life. That’s not numb. That's feeling everything It’s fantastic being present. That's what we all enjoy about some of our favorite activities. They put us in a place where we feel that we just be We are at our best. Whatever it is.
