How To Teach Yoga & Meditation For Children ow To Teach Kids The Tree Pose In Yoga

Hi, I'm Sharon thanks for joining Brooke and myself today for Expert Village for some yoga. We're going to move into tree pose and we're going to start in mountain pose our active standing position. So Brooke is standing tall and firm through her legs. She's going to pick a gazing spot somewhere on the wall in front of her so she can focus her eyes and focus her mind while she's balancing. So grounding down through her left foot really pressing the foot down to the floor. When she's ready she's going to shift her weight over lifting her right foot somewhere along the inside of her left leg. Bringing her hands in front of her heart to a prayer position. And then if she wants to grow some tree branches appropriately enough for tree pose, she can extend her arms up over head, lengthening through the hands. So don't worry if you sway or wobble, trees move all the time with the wind. Then with your exhale release your hands back to a prayer position, drop your right foot down to the floor, release the hands to the sides of your body and then you'll just repeat balancing on your right side and that is tree pose.
