How To Teach Yoga & Meditation For Children ow To Teach Kids The 3 Part Breath

Hi, welcome back! So Brooke has just finished final relaxation, her yogic sleeping and we've just came to a seated position and we're going to sit with our backs together and work on a deep breathing technique known as the 3 part breath. So with us sitting back to back we'll actually be able to feel our breath kind of moving and connecting with one another which is just really a nice thing. So we're each going to turn straight forward and just rest our hands down on top of the knees with the arms heavy and relaxed. Brooke will close her eyes as I will and we'll start to inhale and exhale deeply through the nose. So with each inhalation we're going to try to move it from the stomach all the way up towards the collar bones. Then with our exhales we'll release from the top of the chest around our collar bones all they way down to the stomach. So we're inhaling into the stomach, up to the ribcage, all the way up to the chest and then exhaling from the chest, then to the ribcage and then to the tummy. You can imagine that your breath is rising and falling like the waves in the ocean. If you could just take a few moments out of your day just to do some deep breathing you'll find that it will really work to calm your mind and relax your nerves. And that is the 3 part breaths.
