Running with the Mind of Meditation - Tarah Michelle

You take your time to get sensitive to what’s happening on that day. You may feel fabulous physically; you know or these things; but the mindfulness comes from paying good attention to what’s really happening. Is your mind discursive? Do you need to tighten it in a little bit? Is your mind all over? Then you can bring it more to focus. The gist of it is is to be very present, present to your breath, present to your mind. And there’s a different variety of tools that we use. The mindfulness is, in a nut shell, I think it simply means to be here now with all the circumstances. Whether it’s weather that you are dealing with, or terrain or we have things that go on in our lives. Can you use your running as a tool to enhance your connection to your own basic goodness, your own brilliance? We are serving a bigger purpose in that we’re saying, you know people sometimes will run for cancer societies or leukemia or these other things and events and I think that is awesome. You can do a marathon and you can still run your fastest and you can still run mindfully, and you can do it for something that's in addition to yourself.
